Gary Eugene Johnson was born Oct. 24, 1988 in Houston, Texas. Gary Johnson is a forward for the Longhorns basketball team and has found much success since beginning his college career at the University of Texas in Austin.
Gary Johnson was almost not allowed to play for the U of T Longhorns due to a heart condition. After being in the clear, Johnson went on to play in 22 games with four at starting position. That season, Gary Johnson was only allowed to play half of the games and still game out as one of the top players in scoring and rebounding.
As a sophomore, Johnson earned a spot on the Big 12 Conference All-Reserve team and played in 32 games before suffering an ankle injury. That season, Gary Johnson ranked second on the team in rebounding and third in scoring, while posting 17 double-figure scoring games. With these and his many other accomplishments during his college basketball career, Johnson will hopefully carry into his junior year just as strong. Gary Johnson has also been a three-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll member and active in the community, by participating in multiple charities.
